//In the initial months of becoming a private tutor in 2009, Ms Janice Chuah had only five pupils and was earning less than $1,500 per month. Fast forward seven years, and the maths tutor’s income has since grown tenfold – she takes home an estimated $15,000 a month. The 43-year-old is the founder and principal of million-dollar Concept Math Education Centre, which has two outlets in Bukit Timah and Novena. The centre, which offers math tuition to Primary 1 to 6 pupils, has hit the $1 million dollar annually mark for the past few years.
